The objective of a Backgammon match is to move your chips around the Backgammon board and get those pieces from the board faster than your opponent who works harder to do the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Winning a match of Backgammon requires both tactics and good luck. Just how far you can shift your checkers is left to the numbers from rolling the dice, and the way you shift your chips are decided on by your overall gambling plans. Enthusiasts use differing strategies in the different parts of a game depending on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Plan

The goal of the Running Game plan is to bring all your pieces into your inner board and get them off as fast as you could. This technique concentrates on the speed of advancing your chips with little or no efforts to hit or stop your competitor’s chips. The ideal time to use this plan is when you think you might be able to move your own checkers faster than your opposing player does: when 1) you have a fewer pieces on the board; 2) all your chips have past your opponent’s pieces; or 3) your opposing player doesn’t use the hitting or blocking strategy.

The Blocking Game Strategy

The main aim of the blocking technique, by the title, is to stop the competitor’s checkers, temporarily, while not worrying about shifting your chips quickly. As soon as you’ve created the blockage for the opponent’s movement with a couple of chips, you can shift your other chips rapidly from the game board. The player will need to also have a good strategy when to extract and shift the checkers that you employed for blocking. The game becomes interesting when the competitor uses the same blocking strategy.
