The Essential Facts of Backgammon Strategies – Part Two
March 24th, 2020 by Kaitlynn

As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of talent and pure luck. The goal is to shift your pieces carefully around the board to your home board while at the same time your opponent moves their checkers toward their home board in the opposing direction. With competing player checkers shifting in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for particular techniques at specific instances. Here are the 2 final Backgammon strategies to complete your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the aim of the blocking tactic is to hamper the opponents ability to move their pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely stop any activity of the opponent by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s chips will either get hit, or result a damaged position if he at all attempts to escape the wall. The ambush of the prime can be built anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your board. As soon as you have successfully assembled the prime to block the activity of your opponent, your competitor does not even get to roll the dice, that means you move your pieces and toss the dice again. You’ll win the game for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The goals of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game tactic are very similar – to harm your opponent’s positions in hope to improve your chances of winning, but the Back Game plan relies on different tactics to do that. The Back Game strategy is generally utilized when you are far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this technique, you need to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more challenging than others to use in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your chips and how the chips are moved is partially the outcome of the dice roll.
