The Essential Facts of Backgammon Strategies – Part Two
February 20th, 2022 by Kaitlynn

As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of talent and luck. The aim is to move your chips carefully around the game board to your inside board while at the same time your opponent shifts their checkers toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With competing player chips moving in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for specific tactics at particular instances. Here are the 2 final Backgammon plans to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the goal of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to shift his pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely stop any activity of the opposing player by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s chips will either get bumped, or result a battered position if he ever tries to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be built anywhere between point two and point eleven in your game board. After you’ve successfully assembled the prime to block the movement of your competitor, the opponent does not even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you move your pieces and toss the dice yet again. You’ll be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The aims of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game tactic are similar – to harm your competitor’s positions hoping to boost your chances of winning, however the Back Game plan utilizes different tactics to do that. The Back Game strategy is frequently used when you are far behind your opponent. To compete in Backgammon with this technique, you have to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more difficult than others to employ in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your pieces and how the checkers are moved is partly the result of the dice roll.
