The Essential Facts of Backgammon Strategies – Part Two
January 25th, 2024 by Kaitlynn

As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and good luck. The aim is to shift your checkers safely around the board to your inside board and at the same time your opposing player moves their checkers toward their home board in the opposite direction. With competing player pieces shifting in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for particular strategies at particular times. Here are the last 2 Backgammon strategies to complete your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the purpose of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to shift their pieces, the Priming Game plan is to absolutely stop any movement of the opposing player by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s chips will either get hit, or end up in a damaged position if she at all attempts to escape the wall. The ambush of the prime can be established anyplace between point 2 and point eleven in your game board. As soon as you have successfully constructed the prime to stop the activity of the opponent, your competitor does not even get to roll the dice, and you shift your pieces and toss the dice again. You’ll be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Tactic

The aims of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game tactic are similar – to hinder your opponent’s positions in hope to boost your chances of winning, however the Back Game technique uses alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game technique is generally used when you’re far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this technique, you have to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your pieces and how the checkers are moved is partially the result of the dice roll.
