The Essential Facts of Backgammon Game Plans – Part 1
March 5th, 2025 by Kaitlynn

The objective of a Backgammon game is to move your checkers around the Backgammon board and bear those pieces off the game board quicker than your opposing player who works just as hard to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a round of Backgammon needsrequires both tactics and fortune. Just how far you can move your chips is up to the numbers from rolling the dice, and just how you shift your pieces are decided on by your overall gambling strategies. Players use a few techniques in the differing stages of a match dependent on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Technique

The aim of the Running Game tactic is to bring all your chips into your inside board and bear them off as quickly as you can. This plan concentrates on the speed of shifting your chips with no time spent to hit or block your competitor’s chips. The ideal scenario to use this technique is when you believe you can move your own pieces a lot faster than your opposing player does: when 1) you have less checkers on the board; 2) all your checkers have past your competitor’s chips; or 3) the opponent does not employ the hitting or blocking strategy.

The Blocking Game Tactic

The primary goal of the blocking tactic, by its name, is to block your competitor’s pieces, temporarily, while not worrying about shifting your chips rapidly. After you have established the blockade for your competitor’s movement with a few checkers, you can shift your other chips swiftly off the game board. The player will need to also have an apparent plan when to back off and shift the chips that you employed for blocking. The game gets intriguing when the opponent uses the same blocking technique.
